Hunter completely bypasses the Ruinwood comment and gapes at Sungki.
“Two hundred dollar shirt?” He gives him a look like he’s judging him two hundred percent, even as he stands up and reaches to help pull him up off of the couch.
But Sungki isn't a dragon...his fortune isn't endless, and they had the house to build, plus the children to think of. He does not want their children running around in homemade clothing. (No offense, Lavender.)
He huffs once he's on his feet, and pulls the hem down as best he can. A mother is fluttering around the lamp in the corner - the girls will definitely be okay.
“I love you so much, but sometimes I have to wonder why,” Hunter breathes, but he sounds so incredibly fond that he has to physically stop himself from rolling his own eyes.
He gently nudges him towards the kitchen and catches his hand even if it’s just for a moment, he wants the contact.
“To….a lot of people, probably, but….no…so…technically….yes….” He squints a little, “you’re asking me. So….you can translate that for yourself. I’m tired.”
He pokes around the remaining spaghetti and puts a little bit in a to-go container for Lavender to take home to Daeshim, and dishes out the last bit for them to eat. Sungki’s plate it slid into the microwave and he noms on a piece of room temp bread while he waits for it.
He squeezes his hand. Worse than angels? He has no idea. Hunter's words are a little nonsensical, but it's not the first time. Sungki hums as he watches the microwave.
"Do you know what would be good on that? Peanut butter."
The nonsense is typically worse when he’s tired because he doesn’t even try to articulate words that make sense. Sungki has never given him shit for it, though, so he doesn’t even worry about it.
“Fae are funny,” he snorts softly and reaches over to put the piece of bread in Sungki’s mouth to hold while he grabs the plate from the microwave, “On the spaghetti or the bread?” He sets the plate down in front of the other and retrieves his bread before shoving his own plate into the microwave.
Hunter pauses and looks Sungki over thoughtfully, serious…and then he just hums, “Could put peanut butter on you, too…that would probably be good.”
He takes the bread out of his mouth, chewing his bite slowly. Yeah, with just a touch more garlic, peanut butter could be delicious on this. Sungki looks at him sharply at that last "recipe".
The fae sighs, and for a moment he's preoccupied with getting some of the peanut butter out of the jar, putting it on the side of his plate before he smears his fork against the bread.
"I don't fake anything with you. I don't expect you to like everything about me either." He watches him, finishing the bread off. "You're a good little bottom. I enjoy reminding you of that."
The spaghetti pauses halfway to his mouth before he lowers his fork again.
"No. If I did something for you, you would do something for me in return. Which isn't a bad thing either." Finally, he takes a bite. "You're worrying too much again. If I didn't like something, you would be the first to know."
Hunter pauses mid-bite, “I don’t want to talk about him. It pisses me off.”
He hates that Lennon won’t acknowledge either of them; even now when time has passed. Nothing they do seems to matter or change anything. At this point he only sees the things they do as benefiting Daeshim and Lavender.
And he’s still pissed off that Sungki is treated like some horrible creature when he’s gone out of his way to help things. Granted, a percentage of that has been for selfish reasons. Still.
Hunter continues to eat slowly, “No. To keep you from buying ridiculously expensive clothes for a while.”
He looks over, “Or ever again. I’m quite fond of you naked.”
“—for two hundred dollars—“ Hunter finishes right on the tail of the ‘sale’ because it needs to be said.
Not that he’s actually angry about it.
Mostly, it’s just funny.
“Yes, you do. All of you is like silk.” He nods along, “Really, all of the sex is your fault anyway. I was content without sex until you happened. I mean, yeah, it was fun…feels nice. But I didn’t need it.” He shrugs, “Your fault. You can give me the card when we go to bed later.”
It's true that anything he buys right now probably won't fit in a week. And not after he has the babies either.
But still.
Sungki lets his fork clatter to the plate before reaching his hand out to cover Hunter's. And then he summons his best sultry voice, his best bedroom eyes.
"Let me keep it until morning, and I'll drape you in that silk. Daddy."
Hunter sits again with his coffee, and goes back to eating when Sungki leaves, and then comes back with the cards.
He stops with a mouthful of coffee, puffy cheeked….and he doesn’t swallow all of the way until he finally does speak, “Are you proposing to me right now while also giving me your money so we can get divorced later?”
Hunter blinks at Sungki, slowly setting his cup onto the counter to take the card and rings into his hand. He pockets the card (cause obviously he meant it).
“We’re not getting a divorce. I would kill you before we would get an actual divorce.”
He sits back down again, but not before stealing a gulp of his coffee. He means it too. He would expect nothing less than death. Maybe it's weird, but it works for them.
Hunter fiddles with the rings for a moment, thoughtful. His eyes travel from the gold to the fae and he warms inside in a way that only happens with Sungki.
He grabs the others hand and slips one of the rings onto his finger.
“…I still can’t believe I haven’t run you off yet.” He takes a breath and slides the other ring onto his own finger. Hunters well aware that he hurts people. He always has. Once he gets close - the risk is there. “I’m not going to actually keep your card….” He pouts softly, “Just stop buying that kind of shit for a while…”
"You flatter yourself. I'm not easily chased away."
Daeshim probably tried, back in Sungki's earlier taunting days. But here he is. Sungki's smile is softer than his words though. And while Hunter is thinking about how he hurts people, the fae is wondering....should he tell him that the rings are made of two of his brother's gold teeth?
Nah.
"You can keep it. I still have cash."
He smiles even more sweetly. He won't actually spend any.

"...This was a two hundred dollar shirt. Fuck it, I'm finishing the spaghetti."
If - and I do mean IF - he can get up off the couch.

Grabbing his plate he sets it down beside Sungki and grabs a jar of peanut butter on his way around to sit beside him.
The jar is opened and he dips his fork into it for a taste.
“Sungki….are you really as horny as you act or is it an act and you’re doing it for me the way Dae does for Lennon?”
