Hunter sits again with his coffee, and goes back to eating when Sungki leaves, and then comes back with the cards.
He stops with a mouthful of coffee, puffy cheeked….and he doesn’t swallow all of the way until he finally does speak, “Are you proposing to me right now while also giving me your money so we can get divorced later?”
Hunter blinks at Sungki, slowly setting his cup onto the counter to take the card and rings into his hand. He pockets the card (cause obviously he meant it).
“We’re not getting a divorce. I would kill you before we would get an actual divorce.”
He sits back down again, but not before stealing a gulp of his coffee. He means it too. He would expect nothing less than death. Maybe it's weird, but it works for them.
Hunter fiddles with the rings for a moment, thoughtful. His eyes travel from the gold to the fae and he warms inside in a way that only happens with Sungki.
He grabs the others hand and slips one of the rings onto his finger.
“…I still can’t believe I haven’t run you off yet.” He takes a breath and slides the other ring onto his own finger. Hunters well aware that he hurts people. He always has. Once he gets close - the risk is there. “I’m not going to actually keep your card….” He pouts softly, “Just stop buying that kind of shit for a while…”
"You flatter yourself. I'm not easily chased away."
Daeshim probably tried, back in Sungki's earlier taunting days. But here he is. Sungki's smile is softer than his words though. And while Hunter is thinking about how he hurts people, the fae is wondering....should he tell him that the rings are made of two of his brother's gold teeth?
Nah.
"You can keep it. I still have cash."
He smiles even more sweetly. He won't actually spend any.
He doesn't show it to everyone - not everyone deserves to see it. Sungki always thought that he was without love, but Hunter showed it that that's not true. He just has conditions to it that not everyone can meet.
Hunter makes it look easy. Sungki hums into the kiss, relaxes into it. Before realizing-
Spare her your excuses, uncle! Clearly she's going to have to visit more often to keep an eye on your shenanigans. She gives Hunter another look before turning to rejoin Dawnya in the other room.
Hunter blinks again when Lavender leaves again with her quarter of a cookie.
“I think she was upset….cause I got you….pregnant?” He sounds as confused as you look, Sungki. But when he looks back at him, he steals another kiss. “Are you upset because I got you pregnant, too?”
Snorting, he grabs Sungki’s face and presses a dramatic kiss on his mouth before slipping away to get another to-go container to put half of the cinnamon rolls from that morning into. That and the container of spaghetti get slid into a bag so that it’s all together when Lavy and Dawnya are ready to go home.
Well. Their original homes.
Hunter considers their house - their house, too, in a way.
His tone betrays him though, a little too soft and touched. He...is fond of the child too. No harm will come to her, and hell will open wide if it ever did.
"I hope we're as lucky as Daeshim."
He's not sure he'd want their children to love so purely...he can see the danger in it. But again, that's what they're there for.
“For now,” he nods, “she hasn’t had to deal with bad people yet.” That’s when things change.
He hopes that when it happens, that it doesn’t change her too much, though. Lavender is a little light in the Ruinwood.
Leaning against the counter he reaches for his plate again, and grabs his last little piece of bread.
Hunter looks at Sungki, “They have us. We don’t need luck, we have experience in all of the things we don’t want for them,” he straightens up again, “They’ll be beautiful.”

A couple of gold rings are placed on top of them.
"Idiot. If you want to divorce me, you'd better marry me first."

Hunter watches that smile, and the one that comes after.
The money doesn’t matter.
He leans over and kisses him without a word. It’s just warm; it doesn’t require more, it’s just…needed.

We're being watched.
Because Lavender is up from her nap.

She’s absolutely her fathers daughter isn’t she….

Because if having Daeshim crash their showers is a mood killer? He doesn't even want to imagine.

He smirks and kisses him one more time before he looks over at Lavy.
“Hey babygirl…how was your nap?”

Lavender looks from Hunter to Sungki and back again as she eats it. She knows what you did to Kiki. She knows.
You gave him an acorn. Maybe even two.

And stares.
And looks between Sungki and Lavender a few times.
And then he opens his mouth a few times before, “Look…he wanted me to…”

"I'm sorry...but Daeshim's infant daughter, defender of my virtue..."
It's fucking hilarious, he has to admit.
