he'll have to come back for him. he will come back for him, and that's the promise that the fae makes him before stepping out of the flames of the man's house to the sound of approaching sirens.
the world outside of the ruinwood is so different. sometimes sungki forgets how different it actually is. it secretly makes him appreciate the weird forest all the more, even with all its pollen and ducks that can't be plucked. he makes his way back to it quickly, an eye to the sky as it goes from deep purple to light lavender, closer and closer to the pink that comes with the morning sun. the room itself is still dark when he crawls back through the window. sungki goes to hunter's side of the bed, placing his hand over his mouth while holding a finger against his own lips.
there are other rooms. sungki will help him to one of them.]
[ Hunter did rest for a time - mostly because he was more tired than he wanted to admit.
But he stirs first because he can feel Sungki back in the Ruinwood. Good. And right before he’d get in trouble, too.
Hunter doesn’t startle under the Fae’s hand, and he does nod his understanding before he begins to carefully sit up and swing his legs over the side of the bed. ]
[sungki glances at the mothlings, and then nods his head in the direction of the sleeping figure still in the bed. they understand, and crawl in to sit and watch over and wait, so that baein won't wake up alone. it's not a kindness on sungki's part. it's not. he just doesn't want hunter to worry, and the fae knows that he would.
maybe hunter's legs are technically fine, but he's surely still weak. so he scoops him up and carries him out and into another room. he doesn't know whose it's supposed to be, but they're not there right now.]
[at first the idea was just to get away from everyone else. but it's changing, becoming more about it being just him and hunter. at least until they add to that number themselves.]
I'm the one who should be asking you that. [and that's what he's trying to do right now as he takes a new look at the other's back.] Are you still hurting?

There are so many options here; he could be mad about it, lash out. Make Him feel worse or even stupid for what happened. He could stay here in this house and make it harder.

But that doesn’t really matter anymore. Lennon made it clear that by him being here, trying to care for him that it just makes it harder on him. It just makes him sad that Lennon values the connection of sex more than the Love he would still be giving him even without it.
Hunter sighs - he doesn’t want to think about that anymore. There’s a whole other bag of crazy on his plate now.
His eyes slowly find Sungki again and they linger there. Beautiful, Dangerous, stupid Gremlin. ]
Does…this— [ he motions to himself vaguely. ] —change your feelings now? If it does…I get it…I never wanted it to begin with either.
[ the smile is unconscious, but he loves it when he laughs like that. When he grins and it’s all sharp teeth masking some very obvious affection that he has for Hunter for some reason. ]
Even when I look like a…well…currently a broken chicken….?
[well, you know how he feels about chicken. sungki keeps his eyes locked with hunter's, even as he leans in to lick his tongue alongside some of the dried blood of one of his wings.]
1) apparently the chicken wings are sensitive. 2) he might smother Sungki in his sleep for being sexy when he physically cannot perform anything.
Whether it’s the fae’s intention or not, he’s keeping Hunters nightmares at bay for the time being. He reaches out to touch him, wanting more contact than just his tongue. ]
[oh, but the sadistic (and possibly the masochistic) part of him loves seeing the desire flare up in hunter's eyes, while knowing that his body couldn't go through with it.
he blinks at the touch, a faint smile appearing when he remembers what hunter's talking about.]

[a fae who will let little jealousies get under his skin, and gnash his teeth at imagined rivals. honestly, he doesn't want to think about if things had gone differently between hunter and lennon. if they had been able to stay close, and sungki had come home to find them cuddled up or had to watch them be playful. it would've made him chew on his own fingers.

Oh. [he leans back, reaching into his pocket to retrieve something. he holds them out on his palm - several severed fingers. fingers that have touched hunter when they shouldn't have.] When I gather enough, I'll make you a crown from the bones.

Hurting him, even unintentionally, is the last thing he wants to do. And perhaps, the thing with Lennon was bound to happen regardless. Hunter hated the way Lennon refused to give the fae a chance - and this last argument proved that even when Sungki does something to benefit Lennon in the long run it’s still frowned upon. Hunter would never do that to Daeshim if the roles had been reversed.
He’s pulled from those thoughts at the sound of the initial ‘oh’ and he watches curiously as Sungki searches his pockets. What he reveals should have repulsed him by human standards - who in their right mind would be this calm looking at a set of severed fingers being presented like a gift?
He wants to say they’re not familiar, but the way his body responds to them says otherwise. He swallows softly and tips his head as he looks them over and then rolls his eyes up to look over his Fae’s face. ]
See? Our brand of romance is not soft. Thank you…no one else would have done that for me.
[sungki smiles a bit as he gives his shoulders a shrug.]

[it's how he really feels, and he thinks that part of the problem with lennon is that maybe he didn't realize just how precious hunter actually is until someone else took him away. that's his believe anyway.]

[ it still kind of fascinates him that Sungki thinks that way. Hunter looks at him and see’s this…perfect creature that could have whatever he wanted. He could have had freedom without a deal, without terms. Could have had someone beautiful and just as broken. Could have lived wherever he wanted, done whatever he wanted…
He feels the weight at his back and that word flutters across his brain again; Monster.
It’s going to take time to come to terms with all of this. All of it. But he decides to keep most of it to himself. Sungki’s already spent almost the entire night away dealing with his mess as it was.
He smirks faintly as he watches him wipe the finger off on his pants. That was gross, too, but he lets it slide. ]
[ It’s harder to believe that sentiment than it is to believe that Sungki believes it. He knows the fae can’t lie, and he trusts him implicitly. —even if the fae has a harder time trusting him. Is that going to be worse now that he’s worse than human?
Hunter releases a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding. He’d been tense the whole time Sungki had been gone. He’s always tense when his fae is gone. He isn’t codependent so much as he just feels safer with him. More at home. ]
